Cerner to replace DoD’s anatomic pathology lab information system

July 9, 2015

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) has selected Cerner to replace the Military Health System’s (MHS) existing anatomic pathology laboratory information system.

Cerner will issue its CoPathPlus software licenses and implement server hardware, peripheral equipment, and tracking services throughout all Department of Defense (DoD) anatomic pathology laboratories around the world. The CoPathPlus deployment will provide comprehensive anatomic pathology workflow automation, management reporting, and quality-assurance functionality to the MHS.

“We are proud to be the DoD’s anatomic pathology laboratory solutions provider of choice,” says Travis Dalton, Vice President, Cerner. “Having worked with the Military Health System for more than 20 years, we understand the value of providing the DoD with the best health care IT solutions possible.”

The Defense Health Agency enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide treatment to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime. The DHA is also responsible for driving greater integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS.

For four consecutive years, CoPathPlus has earned the KLAS: Software and Services Category Leader award, Title 1.
