Allscripts, Microsoft Team on App Developer Program

Allscripts, the Chicago-based EHR vendor, has announced a partnership with Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp. that will link their developer communities to create an open platform ecosystem for the healthcare system. The goal is to encourage an open system in healthcare IT, expanding Allscripts’ Application Developer Program (ADP), which allows third-parties to integrate software within the Allscripts platform.

Allscripts, the Chicago-based EHR vendor, has announced a partnership with Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp. that will link their developer communities to create an open platform ecosystem for the healthcare system. The goal is to encourage an open system in healthcare IT, expanding Allscripts’ Application Developer Program (ADP), which allows third-parties to integrate software within the Allscripts platform.

Allscripts and Microsoft say this collaboration can better support developers who want to create applications for both of their platforms. Both say they will increase support for a number of partner solutions and Microsoft applications such as Dynamics CRM. Overall, the companies also will work together to expand the Allscripts developer community to create more apps to improve healthcare.
