March 17, 2010

HORSHAM, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) and leading provider of healthcare information systems and connectivity solutions, today announced it has executed an agreement with Wayne State University Physician Group (WSUPG) to deploy NextGenSM Practice Solutions, a line of business devoted to providing healthcare organizations with cost-effective revenue cycle management (RCM) services. With more than 540 practicing physicians and 670,000 patient visits annually, WSUPG is one of the largest multi-specialty physician practice groups in southeast Michigan.

Under the agreement, WSUPG physicians, residents and staff will have access to services from NextGen Practice Solutions, which are designed to help increase collections, reduce A/R days, and improve efficiency in billing, scheduling, reporting, and other critical practice functions.

“As a medical practice and groundbreaking academic research institution, our business needs are very complex, so finding a partner that could understand these complexities was critical,” said Kenneth P. Lee, C.P.A., executive director for WSUPG and vice dean for Business Affairs at Wayne State University School of Medicine. “The decision to restructure our billing and collection functions is part of an overall revenue cycle management strategy, and we believe NextGen Practice Solutions is the best partner for our organization in this regard. Their experience with provider groups of our size will be important as we work to achieve the business results, improved efficiencies, and financial transparency goals required to be successful in this increasingly complex healthcare environment.”

“In addition, this agreement further strengthens our partnership with NextGen Healthcare by complementing our existing NextGen® EHR deployment,” added Lee.
