HCI'S ONLINE EXECUTIVE INTERVIEWS SERIES
Coming in at number five in this year's HCI 100, Siemens Healthcare is clearly a powerhouse among the industry's vendors. What's more, it is one of only two vendors that offers core clinical functionality to hospitals, such as EMR and CPOE, while also playing heavily in the PACS, RIS and modality space. Recently, HCI Editor-in-Chief Anthony Guerra spoke with Dillione about where the company stands - and is going - in the industry's HITECH-fueled environment.
One-on-One with Caritas Christi SVP & CIO Todd Rothenhaus, M.D.
Caritas Christi Health Care System - the largest community-based hospital network in New England - is in the second phase of its EHR rollout. The organization recently completed an extensive nine-week training regimen with its 1,200-member physician group to lay the groundwork for CPOE adoption and proper use of the EHR. Anthony Guerra had a chance to talk with Rothenhaus about how the current federal policy initiatives were affecting his plans.
A 542-bed teaching hospital located in Camden, N.J., Cooper is Southern New Jersey's major tertiary-care referral hospital for specialized services. It includes the Level I Southern New Jersey Regional Trauma Center, the Cooper Cancer Institute, the Cooper Heart Institute, the Cooper Bone & Joint Institute and the Cooper Neurosciences Institute. HCI Associate Editor Kate Gamble spoke with recently appointed CIO Mike Sinno about his plans for the organization.
Mercer County, N.J.-based Capital Health, a 589-bed regional health network, recently completed an EMR implementation. Comprised of Mercer and Fuld hospitals in Trenton, N.J. and the Capital Health in Hamilton outpatient facility, the organization is expanding, with construction underway for a new hospital as well as an expansion of services at its Fuld hospital. Anthony Guerra caught up with Grochala to talk about how he's managing all these challenges.

Virtual Hospital Tour
When Atlantic Health - a 1,200-bed system located in northern New Jersey - formed in 1998, it brought together two formerly competing stand-alone hospitals: Morristown Memorial Hospital, which specializes in cardiology, and Overlook Hospital, a center for neurologic treatment. Together, the two hospitals offer a wide range of services to patients, including pediatrics, cancer care and bariatric services.
