Health eVillages, a Marlborough, Mass.-based not-for-profit which provides mobile health technology to physicians in underserved areas, announced a new partnership that will deliver audio and video medical education to clinicians in remote areas. The partnership is with the Birmingham, Al.-based Oakstone Publishing, which provides multimedia continuing education materials for physicians.

"Continuing medical education is critical to the practice of medicine, and Health eVillages understands the inherent challenge involved in staying current on evidence-based research and medical advancements -- especially in developing regions worldwide," Donato Tramuto, founder of Health eVillages and CEO of Physicians Interactive, said in a statement.

The medical education material, which will be used by physicians on tablets, will be introduced in one of Health eVillages' largest pilot locations, the Kijabe Hospital in Kenya. The teaching hospital treats more than 10,000 patients each month who travel to the facility from all across East Africa.
