CEO and co-founder Girish Navani says V12 offers improved performance, usability, and interoperability

At its recent annual user meeting, ambulatory electronic health record vendor eClinicalWorks announced a new version of its cloud-based software and touted the growth of its user base.

Founded in 1999, the company said Version 12 (V12) of its software offers many enhancements, such as:

• Improved application performance that is up to 40 percent faster than the previous version
• A module for pre-visit planning
• Improved usability with click reducers and redesigned medication management screens
• A floating toolbar for easy access to key workflow features — including patient records, a virtual assistant, and documents
• Value-based care enhancements through PRISMA, the industry’s first health information search engine
• New products including healow Sign, healow Survey, and healow Chatbot
• Specialty-focused workflows for OB/GYN, pediatrics, Behavioral Health, dental, vision, rheumatology, asthma/allergy, gastroenterology, ENT/audiology, dermatology, and enhancements to the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) module.

“V12 surpasses the state-of-the-art EHR with improved performance, usability, and interoperability,” said Girish Navani, CEO and cofounder of eClinicalWorks. In a statement. “We are further enhancing Revenue Cycle Management and modules for value-based care models, providing all of our customers with advanced solutions to set their practices up for success. eClinicalWorks continues to innovate and invest in product capabilities and enhanced cloud services.”

On the financial side, Navani said the company has seen substantial growth in 2022, with revenue up 10 percent year over year, with projections to record $800 million in GAAP revenue, compared to $727 million in 2021.  The company has increased the total number of providers using eClinicalWorks solutions to more than 146,000. The company’s employee count increased by 10 percent in 2022.

“With this growth and our $100 million investment in cloud services, eClinicalWorks is well positioned to improve health IT offerings and provide our customers with the most innovative and technology-forward tools available on the market,” he said.

Additionally, eClinicalWorks says it has seen increased use of solutions that improve workflows for streamlined operations and value-based care. The company reports:

• 2.5 million healow TeleVisits annually
• 50 million+ patient engagement notifications annually using eClinicalMessenger
• More than 2.6 million patient records exchanged through PRISMA every day with other EHR vendors

The company provides health IT services to many Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). It recently announced that 22-site FQHC CommuniCare has transitioned to eClinicalWorks EHR and additional services to help it provide care to more than 95,000 patients in the San Antonio, Texas, region. “Our previous EHR was not optimized for the cloud and had limited built-in features with subpar performance when compared to eClinicalWorks,” said Paul Nguyen, president and CEO of CommuniCare, in a statement explaining the switch. “We had to rely on third-party programs to accomplish simple tasks. We switched to eClinicalWorks because of their user-friendly and intuitive software. The seamless and customizable integrations allow our providers to help patients achieve their best potential outcomes. Additionally, eClinicalWorks enables front and back-office staff to streamline workflows for a more efficient and engaging patient experience.”
